Why did you want to join the USC Newcomers’ Club? 

My husband is from USC and I have 5 really fun sister-in-laws in Pittsburgh, but thought it would be nice to meet some other people without my last name. The events looked fun as well!

Where did you recently move from?

We lived in Austin, TX. The move was bittersweet. We loved Austin and had amazing friends but wanted to be closer to family.

Where did you grow up?

I moved around a lot growing up, but New Jersey was my final stop in 8th grade.

Where did you go to college and what did you study?

University of Maryland, College Park. I graduated with a degree in Sociology. I went to Caldwell College in NJ for graduate school in education.

What do you do for your day job?

I taught 3rd and 6th grade until I moved to USC. I now work from home as a relocation consultant.

Do you have any kids? If so what are their names and ages?

Yes, I have 2 boys. Oliver is just shy of turning 4 (Dec. 3) and Jack is 2 1/2.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, a dog Annabelle. She is our lovable mixed breed of cuteness. She will be 9 in January.

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to hang out with my family, friends, travel, read, and check out live music.

What books on your shelf are begging to be read?

I used to read a lot more. Nowadays, I typically only get to the book club selection each month. Right now I’m reading January’s selection, Americanah.

What’s the biggest goal you are working on now?

I would like to get back into running or find some other form of exercise that fits my schedule. I desperately want to organize my garage so we can park our cars in there before the throes of winter. Not sure which goal has a better chance.

What upcoming Newcomers’ event are you looking forward to attending?

I look forward to them all but mostly the next couples event. I haven’t been to one yet! I hope we can make it.
