Progressive Dinner: Low Country

Mark your calendar for the last Couples Event of the 2013/2014 club year! Our Progressive Dinner featuring foods from the “Low Country” on America’s Southeast Coast, is scheduled for Saturday, May 31st. What better way to kick off the summer by enjoying new foods and new friendships at this popular annual Couples Event!

6pm:

We’ll start all together with appetizers at the home of Marthe’ and John Groves, where we’ll also enjoy “Sweet Tea” cocktails, South Carolina beer and wine.

7:30pm:

Dinner at various members’ homes for a catered meal whose main entrée is Frogmore Stew. Also known as Low Country Boil, a traditional coastal dish prepared with shrimp, sausage, red skin potatoes and corn. Additional Southern-style side dishes to be prepared and brought by club members include: Cornbread, Cole Slaw and Squash Casserole. Recipes will be provided by event co-chairs after RSVP’s confirmed and houses assigned.

9:30-11:00pm:

We’ll reunite for Peach Cobbler at the home of Jennifer and Andrew Cox.

Cost is $60 per couple and all-inclusive. The first step is to RSVP on club website. If necessary, the chef has offered to make a shrimp free version for anyone with seafood allergies. Please message co- chairs by RSVP deadline if you need this dinner option.

Then, you must COMPLETE your RSVP by Wednesday, May 21st, with a check made payable to the Upper St. Clair Newcomers Club and mailed to Patty Moore, 1602 Trolist Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15241. Your reservation must be paid COMPLETE (on-line sign up PLUS check received) by May 21, 2014.

EVENT CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds after May 27 when our final head count is due.
