Midwinter Welcome Event at Panera

Tell anyone you know who might be new to the area OR who’s recently gone through a life change (new baby, marriage, divorce, etc.) to join you and your fellow newcomers for some coffee/tea/pastry talk. If you don’t know anyone new, come nosh with your fellow newcomers and tell potential newbies how much fun we are 🙂

Couples’ Event: Escape the Room

Saturday, January 21, 7:30 p.m.
1505 E. Carson St., Pittsburgh

Come join us with your spouse or partner for a fun and puzzling evening of mystery solving! Escape the Room is a fun, interactive entertainment concept. While it looks like any other ordinary room, it’s actually a real-life adventure game designed for small groups of friends, families, co-workers or strangers.  Find the hidden objects, figure out the clues and solve the puzzles to earn your freedom and “Escape the Room.”  We have 60 minutes, so be quick! Cost is $62.50 per couple and we have a room booked for 8 people, so 4 couples total. If we get more interest, we will look into booking a second room. Please RSVP and mail your check (made out to USC Newcomers) to Lindsay at 2666 Gloucester Drive ASAP  to secure your space!

January Book Club: Big Little Lies

Please join us at Eva Yager’s home (149 Warwick Drive ) on Monday, January 23rd, at 7:30 to discuss Liane Moriarty’s novel Big Little Lies.

Even if (or perhaps especially if) the last thing you read was Good Night, Moon, please come for the laughter, food and drinks.

Reading the book may be an easy way to create a common connection, but forming friendships certainly doesn’t involve required reading.
