Good Samaritan

The Good Samaritan service of the Newcomers’ Club is available to help members in situations of need with ready-made meals when necessary. Families with new babies, experiencing an emergency (illness, bereavement, etc.) can contact Tina Roeschenthaler, chair of the Good Samaritan Committee, to have meals arranged at or (412) 831-8934. Members who would like to be contacted to help with meals can also contact Tina so she can be ready when need arises.

Viva España!

No, not for exchange students from Spain but rather for our annual Progressive Dinner on Saturday, June 1st!

As a hostess, you cook NOTHING but simply set your table and serve the main course…. prepared by somebody else! Appetizers and desserts will be hosted elsewhere…. Whether you can seat 6, 8, 10 or 12 in your dining room, we need your house!

To offer your home, or for additional information, please contact Cynthia Cable or Mia Moran-Cooper

Share Your Talents?

Time is flying, and it’s hard to believe that we will begin planning for the 2013-2014 season.

We need your involvement to continue to make the Club a success. Are you good at planning events, socializing, organizing, or enjoy making people feel welcome and or just want to meet more of your neighbors? There are many ways you can help continue the Club’s legacy during the 2013-2014 season.

If you would like to be considered for a board position please contact Elizabeth Schwall at We look forward to enjoying many fun activities that are geared toward the many diverse interests of our members during the 2013-2014 season.

Salvation Army Tags: Thank You!

All of the Salvation Army Tags have been spoken for! Thank you to all of the members who volunteered to make Christmas a little bit brighter for local children this year. Our members always show such generosity and it makes me proud to be part of this group!

If you took a tag this year, please remember that tags are due on 12/1 to either Jean Lesogor or Julie Williams. Please contact one of them to make arrangements to drop off your gift.
