Misery loves company! Truth is, whether Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow or not, there will still be a lot of winter left in Pittsburgh!

So bring your wallet, and meet up with others to commiserate the cold over breakfast (from menu) at another famous Pennsylvanian: Eat’n Park.

Our private two-hour walking tasting tour of Lawrenceville will be rich in American history and showcases unique businesses owners that are pursuing their artisan dreams. Both the historic content and the food on this tour represent Lawrenceville’s past history as a blue-collar working community and its recent renaissance into the hip neighborhood it has become. Foods we’ll eat on the tour include Greek specialties, cupcakes, Italian pastries, coffee, and one of the ‘Burgh’s best dogs. We’ll see eclectic boutiques and galleries while savoring specialties from local businesses.

Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring an umbrella. Tour takes place rain or shine!

We can carpool from Westminster Parking Lot, Orr Road side, departing at 9:30am. Those who wish to stay on in Lawrenceville and shop can…those who need to return to USC by2:00pm may ride back together.

Ladies Day Out: Segway Tour of Downtown & Lunch at Bucca Di Beppo

Group glide around downtown Pittsburgh! No experience required! Segway in Paradise has created a private, 1 hour narrated tour for us for $35 that starts with 30 minutes training at 10am. From there, we will roll around downtown seeing sights of our city. You must be able to stand on your feet for up to two hours and wear a flat bottomed shoe with closed toe. No big purses! Personal items must fit in the small Segway basket.

After the tour, we’ll dine in Bucca Di Beppo, each member buying her own meal. Those who want to stay and shop around Station Square can…those who need to get back to Upper St. Clair by 2:00pm can!

Last Lunch of Summer — First Ladies Lunch Out!

A few hours before, let’s celebrate the LAST LUNCH of Summer, and the FIRST LUNCH of the 2014/2015 Newcomers Club year!

Join us for lunch at Il Pizzaiolo in Mt. Lebanon (703 Washington Road) at noon on September 22.

Weather permitting, we’ll dine outside on the stone patio surrounded by lemon trees, trickling fountains and trailing ivy. If it’s raining, we’ll lunch indoors by the artisan built pizza oven.

If you’ve never been to this little restaurant, you’re in for a treat! If you’ve dined there before, treat yourself to some happy chat with new friends and neighbors!

Ladies Day Out: Gilfillan Farm

Maybe you’ve been on the Gilfillan trail that circles the property, or seen the dressed scarecrows while driving on Route 19, but have you seen in the this 1850′s farmhouse furnished with antiques, its outdoor kitchen, large barn, carriage house with 19th century sleighs and buggy , stagecoach outhouse and more?

Bring a brown bag lunch, a $5 donation and enjoy a private tour of the Gilfillan Farm offered by descendants of the original owner and founders of the Upper St. Clair Historical Society. Drinks (water, soda) will provided.

For newcomers or old-timers, this private tour is a unique historical and cultural experience. The restored home and buildings also house the Upper St. Clair Historical Society office and your $5 tour donation will be discounted from membership should you join that day. The property is also available for meetings, weddings, school outings so perhaps this tour will help you in planning a future event!
