Ladies Day Out at Gilfillan Farm

Wednesday April 15, 2015 12:00 PM

Maybe you’ve been on the walking trail that circles the property, or seen the dressed scarecrows among the fields of crops while driving on Route 19, but have you seen inside the 1850′s Gilfillan farmhouse furnished with antiques, its outdoor kitchen, large barn, carriage house with 19th century sleighs and buggy, natural spring, stagecoach outhouse and more?

It’s TAX DAY and the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination so we’ll pause in the library to look at the newspaper edition headlining his death, and mourn the loss of our income to taxes, too.

Bring a brown bag lunch and a beverage. Bring a $5 donation to the Historical Society of Upper St. Clair (unless you are a member already then it’s free) for the private tour of the Gilfillan Farm offered by descendants of the original owner.
For newcomers or old-timers, this private tour is a unique historical and cultural experience. The restored home and buildings are great local treasure. For more info, see www.hsusc.org

Please RSVP on website by Monday, April 13th. Parking information and more tour details will be sent to you after you RSVP.
