Quarantine Kitchen

Saturday March 27, 2021 4:00 PM

Much of our lives are virtual these days. We’re working from home, video-calling family members, and keeping up with friends through social media. The current pandemic has invited us to turn to new forms of entertainment we can participate in from home, including virtual social events. One way to mix up your home-bound routine is through a Zoom cooking class. There’s no reason to go out to learn new kitchen skills and cook a delicious meal; Chef Shawn Culp will come straight to you via your home computer.

Take the family on a virtual trip to Florence, Italy, where Chef Shawn will teach you how to prepare traditional pasta from scratch using a pasta machine. Don’t have a pasta machine, no problem. Chef Shawn will have his kid chef show you how to roll it out with a rolling pin. Chef Shawn will teach you the art of hand-cut pasta and the secrets to a flavorful tomato sauce, as well as professional tips and tricks for the kitchen. Additionally, you will make a fresh Caesar dressing and bake cookies. An authentic Italian experience, all without leaving your kitchen! But wait, this isn’t just for mom and dad. Young chefs will learn valuable culinary skills as they enjoy this hands-on experience as they chop, mix and roll their way to a delicious dish.

As a participant, you and your family will get a meal kit with all the ingredients to make fresh pasta, marinara sauce, Caesar dressing, and fresh-baked cookies.
