Book Club: Ender’s Game

Please join us at Jennifer Cox’s home (2625 Lindenwood Drive) for May’s book club meeting to “discuss” Orson Scott Card novel, Ender’s Game. Even if (or perhaps especially if) the last thing you read was Good Night Moon, please come for the laughter, food and drinks. I know this has been written often, but if you don’t have time to read the book please come anyway. Reading the book may be an easy way to create a common connection, but forming friendships certainly doesn’t involve required reading.

Ladies Day Out: ‘Burgh Bits and Bites Tour of The Strip

logo

From Bits and Bites website: “Smoke hangs in the air along Smallman Street in the Strip District. Yet unlike a century ago when it was the numerous factories and mills along the rivers belching smog into the atmosphere, today it’s the bakeries, coffee shops and eateries emitting fragrant wafts to tempt passers-by.”

Our private Newcomers Club discounted tasting tour of The Strip District Market tour will start at 10am and end about noon. Our walking tour will cover several blocks of historic Penn Ave, with stops to meet merchants and taste samples from around the world including Italian pastries, Mediterranean and Polish specialties, European meats and French bread.

Those who wish to shop after tour’s end should note so in their RSVPS…those who need to return to USC right away should also note that in their RSVPS and hopefully we can organize two car pools: cars who return immediately and cars that stay longer in the Strip. Bring a chill/bag or cooler for your perishables!

Weather: Tour takes place rain or shine
Dress: Wear comfortable shoes and clothing
Food: We taste on the go
Included: Tastings served on tour and bottled water provided
Cost: Regular price with fees, taxes is $44.94/ticket. Our Newcomer Club cost is only $36.22 per ticket with our discount.

1) RSVP to attend
2) note if you will car pool from Westminster Lot at 9am
3) note what time you have to be back at Westminster

I will then forward your email to Bits and Bites Tour who will invoice you $36.22 by PayPal. We are limited to 12 (but can squeeze in 13) so it’s the first 12 (plus me) who RSVP and PAY that will take the tour!

Detailed questions about the tour itself? Please contact Bits and Bites directly! http://burghfoodtour.com/
